The General Data Protection Regulation, effective since May 2018, provides for extended information obligations. Therefore, we, Besi Austria GmbH, Innstraße 16, A-6241 Radfeld/Austria, hereinafter referred to as “Besi Austria GmbH”, inform you in the following which personal data we collect from you in the event of an application and/or registration on the Besi Austria GmbH applicant portal. We will inform you about the purpose for which this data is used and/or processed and whom you can contact specifically if you have any questions.

Who is this data protection information addressed to?
This data protection information is intended for persons (hereinafter also referred to as applicants) who set up an applicant profile with us, Besi Austria GmbH, in the course of an application for a specific position or on their own initiative.
For what purpose do we process your data?
We process your data as part of our recruiting process (personnel search and selection) to fill vacancies and to keep a record of your application documents. You can apply for a specific position or send us an unsolicited application. We will then contact you and inform you about the next steps in the recruiting process. The handling of this process is supported by our recruiting software “E-Recruiter”.
If, in addition to this data protection information, you accept the separate, voluntary declaration of consent, we will also keep a record of your data beyond the recruiting process and the subsequent retention period of 6 months. This will enable us to inform you directly about future vacancies, if applicable, and at the same time offer you the opportunity to apply to us again at a later date with your personal applicant profile.
On what legal basis do we process your personal data?
The personal data you provide is required to carry out pre-contractual measures. You are under no legal or contractual obligation to disclose your personal data. However, we cannot process your application or inform you about future vacancies without your personal data.
Furthermore, your personal data is processed for the fulfilment of legal obligations and for legitimate interest in connection with the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims (e.g. claims under the Equal Treatment Act).
What personal data do we collect and process?
The following categories of data are collected during the creation of the applicant profile and subsequently processed:

When creating an applicant profile during a first application or when a user logs in with his or her profile an authentication session cookie is set to enable navigation and save entered data. This cookie is saved until the applicant logs out or closes the browser.
The cookie is used to save the language the portal is displayed in. The cookie is saved for a month.
When the visitor gets to the website from a different page (e.g. a job platform where apply link / button is used for a specific job from which the applicant is redirected to the job portal) the information where the job ad was posted is saved. However, the visitor can change the referrer in the course of the application. The information is saved in the applicant’s profile if a the applicant finishes an application via the applicant portal. The cookie is saved for 2 weeks.
